Maksym Kytsiuk
Hi! I'm Maksym Kytsiuk, a Team Lead, Communications Lead, Public Information Specialist, Graphic Designer, and dedicated Volunteer.
Currently, I'm holding the position of Humanitarian Division Lead at Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation, Ukraine, one of the biggest charitable foundations in our country.
I have held diverse roles throughout my career, including my recent position as an Anti-Corruption Public Information and Communications Specialist at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Iraq. Prior to that, I worked as a Communications Specialist at UNDP Ukraine, contributing to the United Nations Recovery and Peacebuilding Programme (UN RPP) based in Kramatorsk, Ukraine, with a vast coverage of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia oblasts. I have also served there as a Communications Associate since December 2018.
My professional journey includes working as an Advisor on Communications and Dialogue at GIZ Ukraine, contributing to the "U-LEAD with Europe: Ukraine Local Empowerment, Accountability and Development Programme" from June 2017 to December 2018. Before that, I excelled as a PR & Communications Specialist at ADRA Ukraine, making significant contributions in Mariupol and conflict-affected areas along the 'contact line' in the Eastern Conflict Area from March 2016 to June 2017.
From December 2014 to March 2016, I demonstrated leadership as the Head of "The Centre "Anti-Corruption Platform" NGO in Ivano-Frankivsk while also serving as an investigative reporter for the Organised Crime and Corruption Reporting Project. During this time, I actively participated in local Euromaidan activities and the Dignity Revolution, emerging as one of the prominent leaders of student protests in western Ukraine. Unfortunately, I faced adversity when I was targeted by unknown individuals, resulting in injuries that required extensive medical treatment and rehabilitation.
I hold a Diploma and Master's Degree in Political Science from Vasyl Stephanyk Precarpathian National University. Additionally, I have completed the prestigious "Journalists for Future Challenges" joint annual program of Anne-Marie and Gustaf Ander Centre for Media Studies at Stockholm School of Economics in Riga in collaboration with the Organised Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP).
Originally from Sevastopol, Ukraine, my life took a turn after studying in Ivano-Frankivsk and abroad. Following the temporary occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, I decided to relocate to mainland Ukraine.
